What I find lacking in the service is the sky high monthly fees paired with the minuscule data allowances. 1 GB for $29 or 5 GB for $59 with a 1 year contract. That is inline with the typical national wireless carrier aircard fees, but with the Autonet you are tethered to your car to use the service, at least with an aircard, you can use your data anywhere. Plus the Autonet rings up at a hefty $299 after a $100 rebate. Most aircards can be found for free after discounts and rebates. Sure it sounds nice to be able to have 10 users on the "network" at any given time, but if you really need that functionality, the MiFi is a much better option.

Paying for a XM Sirius subscription for your home of office? Then you should really check out what internet radio has to offer. There are thousands of channels of available with no monthly fee, just the one time equipment cost. Our favorite model is the Sangean WFR-20. It won't win any design awards but its easy to use, compatible with both WiFi and hard wired connections and sounds great too.

This weekend decide to move some stuff around in my home office, including relocating my Epson Workforce 600 to another wall behind my desk and way from my PC. This move meatn that I needed a WiFi adapter to avoid running a printer cable across the floor. After checking Best Buy and a few other places locally, the cheapest price I found was around $70 for a Linksys or D-Link model, which was way too much in my opinion. A brief search on NewEgg.com lead me this Rosewill unit. I ordered it Saturday and received it this morning paying about $25 including shipping. Installing it took about 2 minutes, just load the drivers from the CD and plug it in. Great signal strength and it worked right away with the Epson. What more can I ask for?
