Milwaukee Contractor Gloves

Friday, September 26th, 2008

The saying goes that cleanliness is next to godliness but we think a good pair of work gloves might be the better bet, especially around the shop or yard. The Milwaukee Contractor gloves are among our favorite. The Clarino palm with exclusive Suregrip synthetic patches and padded knuckle panel are extremely durability and the neoprene cuff with with wrist closure makes securing them easy. The breathable spandex is great touch to keep the sweat down along witherry cloth thumb panel. Plus they are machine washable.

Sure a Blower is Great but What about a Cyclone Rake?

Thursday, September 25th, 2008

All the manual rakes and blowers in the world may not be of much help if you have acres of land to clear. The Cyclone Rake might be the answer for you. It uses your riding mower to do the heavy lifting with a heavy steel impeller to move the debris into the trailing carrier.

The Cyclone Rake site has tons of information and video demos so you can see the product in action before ordering plus every model has been discounted $150 through October 15.

Clean your Gutters with Air!

Thursday, September 25th, 2008

Simple ideas are sometimes among the best ideas. The AiraLeave just snaps onto the the end of the your favorite blower and now it is compatible with most any downspout. Turn on the blower and you are just a few seconds from clean and shiny gutters. The AiraLeave does not work the greatest with wet or frozen leaves so give your gutters some time to dry out or even melt before firing up your blower.

Leaf Claws

Wednesday, September 24th, 2008

A decidedly more low tech option to a gas powered leaf vac, the Leaf Claws are pretty darn effective. You just strap them on and start picking up huge amounts of leafs or anything else you want. No mulching and you still have to bend over, but hey they are only $5 bucks!

Troy-Built Blower/VAC

Wednesday, September 24th, 2008

It is a toss up between what I hate more, shoveling snow or raking leafs…yeah its raking leafs…So I have tried a bunch of different blower/vac combinations over the years and this Troy-Built model is the clear winner for me. The blower is has plenty of power to move even wet leaves and the built-in mulcher (10 to 1 reduction) handles debris from leaves to small sticks without a problem. While we can’t completely ditch the rake, finding a quality vacuum/mulching system like this one will save you hours of work for sure.

Natural Radius Grip PRO Shovel

Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008

Fall is a great time to add new plants to your landscape or transfer old ones to a new location. The new Radius Pro Shovel, should make this task a bit easier too. The Unique “O” grip is contoured to match the curve of your palms and wide enough for two hands, which gives you more power for driving and scoping while making it less stressful on your muscles at the same time.

The shaft is made of steel-reinforced polypropylene which is way more durable then wood and the blade is a composite that is lighter than conventional die cast aluminum, but has strength similar to steel. The manufacturer also includes a lifetime guarantee. High tech comes to the garden and we love it.

30-Gallon Kangaroo Container

This is one of our all-time favorite containers. It collapse to next to nothing for easy storage, the hard shell adds the needed durability other containers of this style lack (plus we think it makes for easier dragging) and the large 30 gallon capacity makes this container ideal for all sorts of jobs from sorting evidence to cleaning up yard clippings. You will want more than one, trust us.

Gorilla Dump Cart

Monday, September 22nd, 2008

Traditional wheel barrows are great tools, but they are not always the best for light duty use around the house. Shallow sides and single pivot point can make controlling heavy loads difficult. We like the Gorilla Dump Cart. It can carry 600 pounds and dump up to 300 pounds, which is plenty of capacity for most of us. We also dig the 4 beefy tires. It makes for easy maneuvering on uneven ground. We even fitted ours with a small cover that doubles as a handy seat. Doesn’t hurt that its a good bit cheaper then most wheel barrows either.

Echo 16" Gas Power Chain Saw

Monday, September 22nd, 2008

With Fall fast approaching we thought it would be smart to feature some of favorite or soon to be favorite yard tools. There are some pretty sweet power tools and gadgets to help you get your yard and house ready for the end of summer. First up, is the star of the recent Popular Mechanics chainsaw round up, the Echo CS-370 16 inch model.

This is the saw the Editors grabbed most often. Praise included: “It speaks well of the sturdy Echo that we turned to it for cutting chores during the test. It’s reasonably fast, easy-starting and quiet, and if you prefer an independent choke, throttle and an old-fashioned toggle On/Off switch, this is your saw.” Even their not so favorite feature the tip guard, proved to have its uses. Add in its mid-range pricing, its no surprise this was a top model.
