Duracell PowerSource Mini

Monday, December 29th, 2008

Last week my area was hit with a power outage that lasted about 4 days. I was pretty luckily to have a generator available that let me power my whole house aside from the energy pigs like washer, dryer and stove. But if you don’t have access to a generator or just looking for a emergency power source to put in your briefcase or car, the Duracell PowerSource is my choice.

It has two USB ports for charging compatible devices like a Blackberry or iPod and recharges via AC, DC or USB chargers. Whether you are looking for an emergency power source or you are a power user who needs to recharge more than once a day the Duracell PowerSource can be a lifesaver.

Berry Locator

Wednesday, December 17th, 2008

I am forgetful. Especially when it comes to my car keys and cellphone. I hate having things in my pocket, so whenever I get somewhere I empty out all my stuff. Inevitably, I will misplace something. The problem with losing my Blackberry (aside for the getting the shakes from withdrawal) is that I keep it on silent due the amount of email I get – otherwise it would be going off constantly. So you see the dilemma, I can’t call it to find it. Berry Locator solves that particular problem quite nicely.

All you do is send an email to an account on the device and its starts making all kinds of noise, along with the screen and LED indicator flashing different colors. Plus if you have a GPS unit, the company sends you coordinates of your device which is very handy if it has been stolen.

The service is compatible with every Blackberry with the price varying by carrier. I paid $5 for it and the company offers a direct download for $6.95 from its site if you cannot find anywhere else.

Blackberry Bold Charging Pod

Monday, November 10th, 2008

I retired my old reliable Blackberry Curve this weekend in favor of the new 3G Bold. Unfortunately, the nifty charging pod I reviewed earlier is not compatible across models so I had to order a couple of new ones today for my house and office. But at just $13 bucks each, it is worth it to keep my desks neat and organized. Plus, I really like that when you dock the Bold, it auto displays a clock. Just one of those little things that keep me a Blackberry fan.
