As I wrote about earlier, after years of lusting over them, I finally took the plunge and bought a Macbook Pro. Although I am still figuring out OSX after a decade plus of being a Windows user, I absolutely love it – especially the build quality of the uni-body aluminum case. While the aluminum look is uber hot, after just a few days of use I was getting so paranoid about scratching it I knew I had to do something. So after a bit of research, I settled on the SpeckSkin Hard Case.
It is a hard plastic shell that perfectly fits the MBP, protecting it from the random spill or scratch while still leaving all the ports available. The outside of the shell is coated in a soft satiny paint that feels great to the touch and is just translucent enough for the spiffy Apple logo to still show through. Sure it is disappointing to have to cover up all that beautiful aluminum, it is much better than the alternative.
