Make no mistake, I love my Bose QC II headphones. But for everything they are, there is one thing they are not…portable. Most of the time it doesn’t matter I have plenty of luggage space, but lately I have been finding myself wishing I had a smaller pair of good headphone that I could easily keep in my pocket or bag. While price is up there, the solution may be the SE530′s by Shure. They noise isolation via the fit instead of electronics – they sit in your ear canal, acting like a plug – so there is no battery to replace and are built with dual woofers and a dedicated tweeter for rich and accurate sound reproduction despite their diminutive size. If you are looking for something a bit easier on the wallet, check out the SE420 series. You lose one of the woofers, but save about $100.
